Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will the academics received through ISA Academy allow students to get into top colleges?
A: Yes. We are partnered with some of the most well respected High School Learning Institutions in the country. Students graduating from these schools are regularly accepted into such prestigious universities as Princeton, UCLA, Brown, USC and UC Berkeley.
Q: Will such an intensive and thorough tennis training program interfere with the students' academics?
A: No. We pride ourselves on our ability to create champions, both athletically and academically. We designed our daily schedule to allow students enough time for school work. Also, we have an academic coordinator available whose mission is to support and tutor students. Our name says it all: International Scholar Athlete Academy.
Q: Will students be supervised at all times, even during "free time" or while out of town?
A: Yes. On and off the court, day and night, at "home" or away, students are never left alone, or un-supervised. Safety and security are paramount at ISA Academy. We work hard to build a partnership between students and staff, allowing us to maintain proper supervision that is also fun for the students.
Q: Will day students receive the same training and benefits as the boarding students?
A: Yes and No. Day students will receive the same on-court tennis training as boarding students, but will not receive some of the other ("extracurricular") benefits available to our boarding students. The primary reason for this is that some of our off-court and classroom training is done earlier in the morning or later in the evening, before and after the on-court training takes place.
Q: Are you a tennis only academy, or an athletic academy that includes other sports such as golf?
A: We do plan on expanding our academy to include golf, and possibly other sports, in the future. Right now our goal is to focus on one thing, tennis, and do better than anyone else. If you know of any golf Champions, by all means, get them in touch with us so we can explore those possibilities.
Q: Will students have the opportunity to participate in other sports?
A: No. We are focused on training champion tennis players, so we do not offer or teach any other sports as part of our curriculum. Students may, however, use their free time to engage in other sports for fun, such as soccer, baseball, etc. Also, "extreme sports" such as skateboarding, roller blading, etc. are prohibited for safety reasons.
